A new underwater housing for the 3 new Sony videocameras are in testing right now. This is a tough housing ribbed for knobs and dents, ment for remote control, like LANC or IR. The housing is CNC milled from 6061 aluminium, and both ports are 3 o-ring seal. This housing will be rated for 100m, and that is due to the acrylic port. I will produce a few for sale. Prize not yet determined. If this housing is of interest, send me an email.
Most people who use the Sony A7s, A7R, or other Sonys in the same group have sooner or later got annoyed that the recordings stops after 30 minutes of continuous recording. A smart guy has created a app that overrides this problem. I installed the app and tested this on my Sony A7r II for shooting an insect hatch. The camera was recording 4k files for 5 days with a 256GB SDX card that was swapped and formatted every 5.5 hours. No problems. Nor with overheating. The camera was hooked up to a 2.3A 5V USB adapter via a battery adapter.

After a few hours flying and recording with my Inspire1, I must say I’m satisfied with the quality of the camera and gimbal on this drone from DJI. For the use and price, its a good supplement to the s900 with GH4. The 4k videofile is gradable to a point, and rock steady, almost no stabilizing needed.
This is a modification I made for my GoPro Hero3+ Black to make the GoPro sutable for underwater use on a pole or a tripod. I drilled a hole in GoPro housing where the HDMI connector is. Glued a milled aluminium tube to the housing, and made a plug with o-rings of the HDMI connector. Video out and power in. And now the GoPro is usable for underwater tripod or polecam recordings.
